Jim is a self-taught photographer. From his life experiences and rural background, Jim engages his audience visually to the beauty of people, nature and wildlife. Jim enjoys the many hours of time spent in the outdoors and in the studio for the perfect image, but enjoys it more when he can share this with his audience through his photography. Of the thousands of images taken each year, only a few are strong enough to deserve the honour of being printed and displayed.

Black and White photography is his favourite medium, but as he will admit, some images just have to be in colour. His passion lies in wildlife photography, but he extends his talents into portrait and boudoir photography.

Through his photography, Jim has also ventured into the writing world and has had several photo essays published in agricultural magazines.

When not hidden in a blind, stalking through the woods or set up in a studio, looking for that perfect shot, Jim’s time is consumed by family, friends, travelling and his never ending quest for that picture perfect shot of whiskey.
